Water Calculations – Part G

New changes to Part G of the Building Regulations came into play on the 6 April 2011 with all new homes and conversions now requiring to meet new water efficiency targets. These changes will mean that Building Control will now ask for calculations showing that the property’s water consumption will be no more than 125 litres of portable water per person, per day.

This means that developers will need to consider the flow rate for all new taps, showers, W.C’s and appliances, and the size of the bath.

NuPlanet Sustainable Solutions can assist in achieving Building Regulations approval by preparing the required formal calculations, and offering advice on how to reach the target daily water consumption. We can also offer advice on suitable grey and rainwater harvesting systems which will help reduce consumption levels. We have developed a selection of information sheets to help guide you through current requirements.

NuPlanet Sustainable Solutions offer cost effective advice throughout the assessment process. For a quotation please call us on 01273 739324 or email us here.
