A growing number of Local Authorities throughout the UK require new commercial buildings to be designed and certified to a specific BREEAM rating as part of the planning conditions. It is likely that the planning case officer will require a BREEAM Pre-assessment as part of the planning application to demonstrate that consideration has been made at the early concept stage.
