Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment

NuPlanet Sustainable Solutions are accredited Code for Sustainable Homes Assessors who bring a great deal of experience and knowledge to the table. Our Assessors will lead the project team through the assessment process, and will offer guidance on how to achieve the required credits. Early appointment of our assessors will assist in obtaining the most cost effective and successful assessment.

The Code for Sustainable Homes is a government launched scheme which has replaced the older EcoHomes as the national standard to assess the carbon produced from all new residential developments in England.

The Code is a set of sustainable design principles covering performance in 9 key areas:

• Materials
• Surface Water Run-off
• Waste
• Pollution
• Health & Wellbeing
• Management
• Ecology

The Code uses a rating system of one to six stars and involves a Design Stage Report and a Post Construction Report which is submitted to The Building Research Establishment to provide a final Code certificate.

The Code for Sustainable Homes offers forward thinking developers the chance to stand out from the rest in regards to the level of sustainability their developments offer by setting themselves the challenge of obtaining a higher Code rating.
